Un llamado a enjuciar a los miembros de la Comisión Anticorrupción realizó el vicepresidente Jorge Glas, durante el Enlace Ciudadano de este 23 de julio del 2016. El motivo: el daño a la honra de funcionarios que según el Segundo Mandatario habría causado la Comisión Anticorrupción al denunciar irregularidades en la compra del terreno de la Refinería del Pacífico, en Esmeraldas.
Fundamedios ya denunció la persecución que la Comisión sufre después de sus denuncias. Sin embargo, el tema fue retomado ahora por el Vicepresidente, quien llamó a la acción.
Glas narró que un juez decidió declarar a una denuncia de la Comisión referente a sobreprecio en la compra del terreno para la construcción de la Refinería del Pacífico como "maliciosa y temeraria". Por eso, hizo un exhorto para que actúen: "Por favor, los abogados de la Refinería del Pacífico, que acudan a la Corte, como corresponde, a defender la honra. Esta es la construcción que quieren hacer en la próxima campaña electoral, hablar de corrupción. Falsedad", dijo el Segundo Mandatario.
No señaló quién es la víctima de este supuesto atentado contra la honra. Sin embargo, acusó directamente a Jorge Rodríguez, vocero de la Comisión, de mentir, en búsqueda de una candidatura a las próximas elecciones. "Yo rechazo profundamente esto. A este señor Rodríguez yo lo conozco porque lo había entrevistado cuando tenía mi programa de televisión. Muchas veces dedicado a denigrar, insultar y calumniar a los funcionarios de Gobierno", dijo.
Por esta razón, dijo que el Gobierno actuará en las instancias judiciales que procedan contra la Comisión. "Hay que rechazar las mentiras. No se puede utilizar las mentiras para hacer política y vamos a defender la honra como corresponde ante la Corte".

Based on this he urged officials to act: "Please, lawyers for the Pacific Refinery, go to the Court, as appropriate, to defend the honor. This is what they aim to do in the next election campaign, talk about corruption. Lies", said the vice president.
He did not say who the victim is of this alleged attack against honor. However, he directly accused Jorge Rodríguez, spokesman for the Commission, of lying as a means to become a candidate in the forthcoming elections. "I deeply reject this. I know this Mr Rodríguez because I interviewed him when I had my TV show. He was often dedicated to denigrating, insulting and slandering government officials", he said.
For this reason, he stated, the government will act against the Commission before the relevant judicial authorities. "We must reject the lies. Lies cannot be used to go into politics and we will defend the honor as befits before the Court".
