La cuenta de Twitter del portal de investigación Mil Hojas fue dada de baja por algunas horas y condicionada a borrar información concerniente a una protesta para volver al aire.
El hecho ocurrió el 16 de junio y se conoció cuando Martha Roldós, la responsable del portal, lo denunció desde su cuenta personal. Ese día, Roldós escribió el siguiente mensaje: “Cuenta de @fmilhojas ha sido bloqueada Se puede ver pero no se puede tuitear. No dicen qué regla fue violada”.
Milhojas recibió un primer aviso de la red social en donde se les indicó que el portal ha violado las reglas de Twitter y que tendrán que esperar tres horas para poder usar nuevamente la cuenta. Sin embargo luego de ese tiempo, se les pidió que eliminen dos ‘tuits’ referentes a una protesta que hubo en Guayaquil, en la cual resultaron detenidos dos personas conocidas como “Los Diegos”.
Los ‘tuits’ que fueron dados de baja contenían fotografías del hecho, junto a la siguiente leyenda: “Los nombres de los agentes infiltrados que detuvieron a los Diegos”, según consta en la notificación que llegó de Twitter.
Esta acción ocurre después de que la Secretaría de Comunicación denunciara el pasado 2 de junio a este portal por la supuesta violación de derechos de uso del logo y la marca “Ecuador Ama la vida”.
Portal Mil Hojas is the victim of censorship in Twitter
The Twitter account of the investigation portal Mil Hojas was taken down for a few hours and only allowed to go back on the air on the condition it deleted information about a protest.
The incident, which occurred on 16 June, was made known when Martha Roldós, responsible for the portal, denounced it in her personal account. That day, Roldós wrote the following message: "The account of @fmilhojas has been locked. It can be seen but no messages can be sent. They do not say what rule was violated".
Mil Hojas received a first notice from the social network saying the portal had violated Twitter rules and would have to wait three hours to be able to use the account again. After that time, however, they were asked to remove two 'tweets' regarding a protest in Guayaquil, in which two persons known as "Los Diegos" had been arrested.
The 'tweets' that were removed contained photographs of the event, with the following text: "The names of undercover agents who detained Los Diegos", as stated in the notice received from Twitter.
This has occurred after the Communication Secretariat (SECOM) sent on 2 June 2016 a complaint against Mil Hojas for the alleged violation of the right to use the logo and brand "Ecuador Ama la Vida" (Ecuador Loves Life).
