El periódico “El Vocero de Bolívar y su gente”, de la provincia de Bolívar (sierra central) deberá pagar una multa de USD 366 por no identificar ni clasificar los contenidos en 11 de las 12 páginas del periódico, en su edición 483, año 12, de la semana del 15 al 20 de febrero de 2016.
La Intendencia Zonal 5-8 de la Información y Comunicación emitió la sanción de oficio el 26 de mayo, tras ratificar el reporte interno generado por esa entidad y concluir que el medio infringió el artículo 60 de la Ley Orgánica de Comunicación (LOC), referente la obligación que tienen los medios de identificar sus contenidos. El representante del periódico reconoció el cometimiento de la infracción y se comprometió a mejorar sus prácticas comunicacionales, durante la audiencia ante la entidad reguladora.

The newspaper "El Vocero de Bolívar y su gente", of the province of Bolivar (central highlands), must pay a fine of USD 366 for failing to identify or classify the content in 11 of the paper's 12 pages, in its 483 edition, year 12, of the week from 15 to 20 February 2016. The Information and Communication Intendency for Zones 5-8 issued the sanction ex officio on 26 May, after ratifying the internal report generated by the regulatory entity and concluding that the outlet infringed Article 60 of the Organic Communication Law (LOC) concerning the obligation of the media to identify their content. The newspaper's representative acknowledged the offense and committed to improve their communication practices during the hearing before the regulatory entity.
