Es una de las regiones más preciadas del planeta biológicamente hablando debido a su papel crucial en la generación de condiciones climáticas que equilibren los requerimientos en los que se desarrolla la vida a nivel mundial. La cuenca amazónica ecuatoriana es una tierra donde conviven pueblos originarios con saberes ancestrales y una gran riqueza cultural que se debe preservar. Sin embargo, esta es una de las regiones con mayor deforestación y donde el impacto del cambio climático puede causar efectos más significativos.

Estos antecedentes son los detonantes inspiracionales para la planificación y lanzamiento de la “I Cumbre Amazónica de Comunicación y Periodismo contra el Cambio Climático 2022” y TechCamp “Herramientas para Contar el Cambio Climático desde el Periodismo”

Vamos a estrechar lazos con las comunidades amazónicas, integrar el Ecuador diverso para mejorar los conocimientos científicos acerca del impacto del cambio climático.

Objetivo

La Cumbre reunirá a periodistas, comunicadores, estudiantes, académicos, miembros de la comunidad científica, directivos de ONGs, representantes de comunidades, autoridades del Gobierno nacional y de gobiernos locales, activistas con el fin de intercambiar criterios y herramientas que sirvan para que desde el periodismo podamos entender de forma más profunda y abarcativa los impactos del cambio climático especialmente en las comunidades más vulnerables y fortalecer las capacidades técnicas, estrechar lazos con las comunidades amazónicas y mejorar los conocimientos científicos acerca del impacto del cambio climático.

Buscamos debatir y reflexionar sobre las coberturas periodísticas en temáticas relacionadas a los efectos del cambio climático y la lucha contra la desinformación.
