La emisora Riobamba Stereo 89.3 FM (Sierra central) recibió una amonestación escrita por incumplir el artículo 10, numeral 3, literal k de la Ley Orgánica de Comunicación (LOC), artículo referente al ejercicio profesional en cuanto a “respetar los derechos de autor y normas citas”.
La Intendencia Zonal 3 de la Información y Comunicación Zonal emitió la sanción el 14 de junio por considerar que el medio incumplió con el artículo en mención en el segmento “Visión estudiantil” del programa “Noticiero Visión”, transmitido de 6h46 a 9h02 del 29 de abril de 2016. El representante del medio admitió ante la Supercom que se cometió la infracción al no identificar las fuentes de información que difundió el comunicador del noticiero.
Another radio station is cautioned for failing to identify sources
Radio station Riobamba Stereo 89.3 (central Highlands) received a caution in writing for violating Article 10, paragraph 3, letter k of the Organic Communication Law (LOC) regarding "respect for copyright and quoting rules".
The Information and Communication Intendency for Zone 3 issued the sanction on 14 June after ruling that the station had failed to comply with the article in question in the segment "Visión estudiantil" of the program "Noticiero Visión", broadcasted from 6h46 to 9h02 on 29 April 2016. The media outlet's representative admitted to Supercom that the infringement had been committed by failing to identify the sources of the information broadcasted by the news program's presenter.
