La estación televisiva local Cañar TV, de Azogues, ubicada al sur del país, fue multada este 28 de junio con el pago de USD 366, por transmitir una película con contenido violento dentro de la franja horaria familiar el pasado 6 de mayo de 2016.
La Intendencia de la Información y Comunicación Zonal 6, a través de un trámite iniciado de oficio, concluyó este 28 de junio que el medio violó los artículos 66 y 65 de la Ley Orgánica de Comunicación (LOC) y aseguró que es obligación del medio la identificación y clasificación de sus contenidos de acuerdo a la normativa vigente.
Durante la audiencia, el representante del medio reconoció el error cometido, sin presentar pruebas de descargo. La película por la cual se emitió la sanción se titula “Bajo amenaza”, es un film de suspenso del año 2005, interpretado por Bruce Willis y está basada en la novela por Robert Crais, referente a un secuestro.
TV station is fined for broadcasting a "violent" movie during family time
Local television station TV Cañar, in Azogues, located in southern Ecuador, was fined USD 366 for broadcasting a film with violent content during the family time slot on 6 May 2016.
The Administration of Information and Communication for Zone 6, through a process initiated ex officio, concluded on 28 June that the TV station violated Articles 66 and 65 of the Organic Communication Law (LOC) and stated that it is the duty of media outlets to identify and classify content according to current regulations.
During the hearing, the media outlet's representative acknowledged the mistake without presenting exculpatory evidence. The film for which the sanction was issued is titled "Hostage", and is a thriller made in 2005 . It features Bruce Willis and is based on a novel by Robert Crais about a kidnapping.
